Michael Paul Baker, 56, of Crystal City died March 1, 2020, at his home. Mr. Baker was a driver/deliveryman with UPS for 28 years. He was a former paramedic with Abbott Ambulance in St. Louis and had served as a firefighter with the Antonia Fire Protection District and the Crystal City Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. Born Oct. 22, 1963, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Birdette “Mickey” (Hopper) and Charles Baker.
He is survived by his wife: Kimberly (Robertson) Baker; a son: Ryan Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter: Tania Rudolph of Hillsboro; a grandson: Hunter Rudolph; a sister: Tammy (Ade) Benton of Arkansas; a brother: Tim Baker of Barnhart; his parents-in-law: Mary Ann and Norman Robertson of Festus; a brother-in-law: Dale (Dawn) Robertson of Festus; a sister-in-law: Dawn (Julie) Colbert of Troy; two nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Hope Rudolph.
A memorial gathering is planned from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
