Melton Lavan “Tupie” Lindsey, 86, of Imperial died Sept. 8, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Lindsey was a pressman and a U.S. Navy veteran. Born July 10, 1935, in Peach Orchard, Ark., he was the son of the late Johnny and Rosetta (Souders) Lindsey.

He is survived by his wife: Linda (Vanpool) Lindsey; two sons: Lindell (Randi) Lindsey of Festus and Shane (Angie Liss) Lindsey of Imperial; a sisters: Loral (the late Don) Curtis of Peach Orchard, Ark.; and a grandson: Jacob (Serenity) Lindsey of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Oma Mustain and Wilma Purdy; and a brother: Buddy Lindsey.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Fairview Christian Church, 2206 Hwy. 61, in rural Festus. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County.
