
Melba L. Wigger, 86, of Herculaneum died March 27, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Wigger worked as a secretary for the De Soto Shoe Factory. She was a talented artist and after her retirement, opened a studio to teach oil painting classes and continued to be involved with a variety of crafts. She was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto and loved time out with her special friends and family. Born April 27, 1934, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Leo William and Louise (DePriest) Hogan. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kennith W. Wigger.
She is survived by a brother: Don (Lee Ellen) Hogan of Festus; and two grandchildren: Holly Boyer of Festus and Brenden Boyer of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by two children: Angela Louise (Dwayne) Boyer and Kendyl Becker; and two brothers: Bob (Betty) Hogan and William L. “Dub” (Glenda) Hogan.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Smith. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
