Marie Ellen “Dink” Roth, 90, of Festus died Aug. 22, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Roth worked for PPG Industries in Crystal City, Howard Industries in Festus and was a medical assistant for 23 years for Dr. Samuel Bai and Dr. Duk Park. She was a charter member of Our Lady Catholic Church and Our Lady’s Sodality, Our Lady’s Quilters and the Young at Heart group and volunteered in the church cafeteria. Born April 13, 1929, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Rachael (Hiatt) and William E. Milfelt.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years: Roy Walter Roth.
She is survived by three sons: Gary A. (Pam) Roth of San Diego, Calif., Thomas W. (Lisa) Roth of St. Louis and John C. (Kelly) Roth of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a daughter: Carol Jeanne Priest of Fredericktown; a sister: Jean Pusateri of Festus; seven grandchildren: Amanda Gruenberg and Ryan, Nick, Garrett, Zachary, Rachel and Madeline Roth; and three great-grandchildren: Ella Marie Gruenberg and Cruz and Harper Roth.
She was preceded in death by a brother: William B. Milfelt; two sisters: Doris Manette (the late Vernon) Graham and Ann Laura (the late Harry) Harmon; and a brother-in-law: Joseph Pusateri.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis or to Our Lady Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
