Barton couple

Lois Rebecca Barton, 84, and Roy Cleo “Pete” Barton, 84, both of Pevely, died four days apart at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

Mrs. Barton died Nov. 6, 2020.  She was retired as a machinist from General Metals Inc. in St. Louis and worked at Pevely Daycare in Pevely. Born July 16, 1936 in Puxico, she was the daughter of the late Cassie (Dublin) and Ralph Miller.

Mr. Barton died Nov. 10, 2020. He was a retired machinist for Swing-A-Way Manufacturing Co. in St. Louis. Born Oct. 16, 1936, in Black, he was the son of the late Beulah (Wells) and Thomas Barton.

The Bartons are survived by a son: Randall “Randy” (Kathy Kruse) Barton of Imperial; three grandchildren: Glen Thomas (Shauna) and Zach Barton and Christine Sweeney; four great-grandchildren: Jayden Allbright, Zuri and Zathan Barton and Chaley Dry; Mrs. Barton’s sister: DeLois (the late Junior) Freeman of Bowling Green, Ky.; and Mr. Barton’s sister: Sue Cover of Bellville, Ill.

They were preceded in death by a son: Terry Barton; a granddaughter: Eva Barton; Mrs. Barton’s brothers: George (Doris survives of Bowling Green) Miller and Paul David (the late Jo) Miller; her half sister: Annabelle; and Mr. Barton’s siblings: Betty (the late Louie) O’Shea and Glen Barton.

Burial was held Nov. 13 in the Puxico City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
