Lois Marie Gibson, 84, of Festus died Jan. 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Gibson was a retired cafeteria manager for the Jefferson R-7 School District. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, where she took part in the Adoration Chapel, and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1230 Auxiliary, VFW Post 3777, American Legion Post 253 Auxiliary and the Elks Ladies at Lodge 1721. She loved fishing, cooking, traveling and hosting parties for her family and friends. She was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Festus, the daughter of the late Genevieve Agnes (Laiben) and Victor James Roussin. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Frank “Bob” Gibson.
She is survived by a daughter: Maria Lynn Gibson of Festus; two grandsons: Bobby (Andy) Kling and Joshua Kling; three sisters: Ellen (the late John) Lembeck of Ballwin, Becky (Ted) Lembeck of Ellisville and Cindy (Kevin) McMahon of St. Louis; and five brothers: James Roussin of Festus, Paul (Judy) Roussin of Festus, Timothy (the late Mary) Roussin of St. Peters, Joseph (Cheryle) Roussin of Festus and Richard (Karen) Roussin of Festus.
She also was preceded in death by a son: David Wayne “Gibby” Gibson.
Funeral services and burial were private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
