Linda Jean Sander, 64, of Festus died Nov. 2, 2016, at her home. Ms. Sander was a maintenance worker at Festus High School and a member of First Christian Church in Hematite. Born June 30, 1952, in LaPorte, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Jean (Luchtman) and Ralph Bower.
She is survived by two daughters: Jamie (Shain) Massey of De Soto and Jennifer (Shawn) Lee of San Antonio, Texas; a son: Jason (Rebecca) Sander of Imperial; three brothers: Thomas (the late Odie) Bower of Columbus, Ohio; Craig (Lisa) Bower of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Kenny (Judy) Smith of New York City, N.Y.; a brother-in-law: Jim Hempen of Millstadt, Ill.; 10 grandchildren: Jonathan Lee, William Seth Lee, Kimberly Lee, Beth Lee, Madison Sander, Joseph Sander, Desire Massey, Deidra Massey, Katlyn Massey and Shain Massey; and one great-granddaughter: Celina Chevelle Lee. She was preceded in death by a sister: Debbie Hempen; and his stepmother, Marion (Smith) Bower.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at First Christian Church in Hematite, officiated by Pastor Aaron Watkins. Burial is in the Hematite Christian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
