Leonard W. Martin Sr., 73, of Fenton died June 15, 2017, at his home. Mr. Martin was a retired comptroller for U.S. Metals and Supply. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Fenton for more than 20 years, serving as a Eucharistic minister. He taught the Parish School of Religion classes in the evening and was active in ACTS retreats as well as volunteering for other events. He also volunteered at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, taking the Holy Eucharist to sick patients. He was born Aug. 30, 1943, the son of the late Lemuel and Winifred (Taylor) Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Betty (Ziegler) Martin; three sons: Lenny (Sandy) Martin of Arnold, Scott (Michelle) Martin of Barnhart and Cheri (Branson) Williams of Arnold; six grandchildren: Rachael (fiance Matthew Barrett), Nikki, Brendan, Victoria, Ashley and Emma; and many children-in-law, siblings, siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Trenton.
Funeral Mass was held June 19 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Fenton. Burial was in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements were under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
