John R. Bartlow, 82, of Festus died Nov. 7, 2020, in St. Louis. Mr. Bartlow worked for the Department of Corrections and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Catholic faith. A friend of Bill W. for more than 46 years, he touched many lives with his love, kindness, and wisdom. He enjoyed traveling with his wife on their Honda Goldwing and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 5, 1938, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Beatrice (Myracle) Hawkins and Robert Bartlow.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years: Kathy (Stecher) Bartlow; and was a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
A funeral service was held Nov. 16 at Assumption Catholic Church in St. Louis County, officiated by Father Ryan Weber. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, 14 Sunnen Drive, Suite 144, Maplewood, 63143. Arrangements were under the direction of Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home in south St. Louis County.
