John Henry “Jack” Buehler Jr., 77, of Barnhart died March 27, 2017, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Buehler was a retired tool and die maker and machinist for Anheuser-Busch and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he participated in Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica in 1962-1963. He was a member of the Original Corvette Club of St. Louis and the National Corvette Museum, and he supported Backstoppers, the St. Louis Muny, the St. Louis Science Center, the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Butterfly House. He was passionate about Corvettes, model trains, Pepsi, ketchup and his family and friends. Born Aug. 13, 1939, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mable (Minter) and John Henry Buehler Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years: Alice "Jane" (Dunn) Buehler of Barnhart; four children: Anita Dunn of Ballwin, Dennis Buehler of Ellisville, Steven Buehler of Fenton and Lisa (David) Coombs of Oakville; a brother: Richard (Mary Ann) Buehler of Festus; eight grandchildren: Emily and Ian Dunn of Ballwin, Megan Buehler of Ellisville, Brendan and Sarah Buehler of Fenton and Daniel, Matthew and Adam Coombs of Oakville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Darlynn Buehler.
Funeral services were held March 31 at Kutis South County Chapel in south St. Louis County, officiated by Monsignor James Telthorst. Burial with full military honors was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
