Jimmy Lynn “Jim” Biggs, 86, of Crystal City died Dec. 5, 2015, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City. Mr. Biggs was a retired store associate and manager with both the P.N. Hirsch and Dollar General stores in Crystal City and finished his career with Wal-Mart. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City. Born July 5, 1929, in Farmington, he was the son of the late Johanna (Trauernicht) and Adolph Biggs. He was preceded in death by his wife: Earline (Swink) Biggs.
He is survived by two sons: Roger Earl (Jenny) Biggs of Sunset Hills and Robert Lynn (Cindy) Biggs of Alpharetta, Ga.; a brother: Mac (Jean) Biggs of Hermitage; and two grandsons: Quinten M. Biggs and Spencer J. Biggs.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Carl Biggs.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 220 Brierton, in Crystal City, officiated by Pastor Jarold Rux. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
