Jean Hendershot, 84, of Festus died Nov. 10, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Hendershot was a homemaker. She enjoyed cross stitching, traveling, and reading. Born Sept. 7, 1935, in Greece, she was the daughter of the late Athanasios and Polixeni (Margaritis) Psara.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Robert A. Hendershot Sr.; two sons: Robert Hendershot Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., and Randall Hendershot of Oakville; two daughters: Dina Hendershot of Zion, Ill., and Karen Hendershot of Festus; a brother: John (Vasiliki) Psara of St. Louis; two sisters: Linda (Joseph) Doria of Kerrville, Texas, and Dina (Kosta) Iakovidis of St. Louis; six grandchildren: Andrew, Patrick, Justin, Jonathan, Kristen and Kevin Hendershot; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Richard Hendershot.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, PO Box 21787, St. Louis, 63109-0787. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
