Janice M. (Tayloe) Chilton, 76, of High Ridge died Nov. 10, 2022, in High Ridge. Mrs. Chilton was retired from the Northwest R-1 School District after 27 years. She loved cats and was a volunteer at Open Door Animal Sanctuary, giving many unwanted cats a loving home. She was an avid soccer fan and loved watching her grandchildren compete. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and going antique shopping. Born Oct. 24, 1946, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Florence (Sanders) Tayloe.
She is survived by her husband: Ronald Chilton of High Ridge; four children: Cindi Willis of Festus, Janine (Richard) Wilson of Festus, Melanie (David) Taylor of Hillsboro and Jesse (Christina) Chilton of Ballwin; nine grandchildren: Austin (Elise) LaBarge, Autumn “Pixie” Willis, Ricky (Sara) Wilson Jr., Brandy Lea Wilson, Leah Chilton, Ian Chilton, Gavin Chilton, Nate Chilton and Gabriella Chilton; and one great-grandson: Ricky Wilson III. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Michelle Chilton; and a brother: Lee (Chie) Tayloe.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home.
