Janet Marie Lewis, 73, of De Soto died April 22, 2020, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Lewis was a retired waitress and worked for several years at the De Soto Cafe. She also was a member of the De Soto Amvets Ladies’ Auxiliary, the De Soto VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary and the De Soto Elks Ladies’ Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, exercising at the gym, walks in the park and spending time with her family and friends. Born Jan. 13, 1947, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Keenan) and Clinton Dunigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Allen “Ray” Lewis.
She is survived by three sons: Donald Storie of De Soto, Robert Storie of De Soto and Clovis (Martha) Storie of Derby, Kan.; three brothers: Clayton (Clara) Dunigan of Hutchison, Kan.,Woodrow Dunigan of Hillsboro and Eric (Christy) Dunigan of Hutchison, Kan.; three sisters: Gloria Wells of Hutchison, Kan., Carolyn (Donald) Boynton of Farmington and Edith Sampson of De Soto; seven grandchildren: Brooke, Evan, Nick, Megan, Austin and Summer Storie and Todd Hinchee; a great-grandchild: Marlee Hinchee; three stepchildren: Michael Lewis, Melissa Hutchison and Jennifer Nguyen; and numerous nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John Richards and Donald Dunigan.
Private funeral services were held at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
