Daryl Edward Deal, 63, of House Springs was allegedly found with methamphetamine when he was arrested at his home. He was on probation at the time of the arrest for a previous drug charge, according to court documents.
Deal has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. He was arrested on Oct. 7, and as of Oct. 8, he was held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records show.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is requesting the drug charge be considered a class C felony, punishable by three to 10 years in prison, due to Deal pleading guilty to a possession charge in December 2023, court documents said.
After pleading guilty in 2023, Deal was sentenced to five years in prison, but the sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years’ probation, according to court records.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, deputies on Nov. 23, 2024, were called to a home in the 5500 block of Dalton Drive in House Springs for an incident. Deal was arrested, and when a deputy searched him, the deputy allegedly found a bag with a white crystal-like substance in Deal’s jean pocket.
The substance was later identified as meth, court records said.
