James R. Leonard, 55, of Festus died Dec. 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Leonard was a custodian at Jefferson College. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, sleeping, scratching lottery tickets and aggravating people. Born Jan. 30, 1962, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Marty (Stearns) and David Leonard.
He is survived by a son: James (Bethany) Leonard of De Soto; a daughter: Shelby (Sebastian) Leonard of Festus; a brother: David (Shirley) Leonard of De Soto; a sister: Debbie Herget of De Soto; and one grandchild, with another on the way.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Leonard.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto
