James Lloyd Brooks, 89, of Niceville, Fla., died Dec. 22, 2021, in Sunset Hills. Born Feb. 16, 1932, in Granite City, Ill., he was the son of the late Maude and Marvin Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sue E. Brooks.
He is survived by two stepsons: Matthew J. Manzelli and Michael A. Manzelli; two daughters-in-law: Theresa Manzelli and Karen Manzelli; five grandchildren: Jenna, Anna, Kaitlyn and Ethan Manzelli and Nicole Toben; and three great-grandchildren: Alivia, Taetem and Emmy Toben.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Marilyn Isringhaus, Ann Johnson and Janet Hartbeck.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
