Todd, Jack

Jack Alfred Todd, 83, of Festus, formerly of Buffalo, Mo., died Dec. 28, 2022, at his home. Mr. Todd was proud of his unconventional life. He spent many years traveling the country as a farrier and trainer of horses. A talented artist, his wood carvings won many national contests and his paintings still hang on many walls. He was passionate about fishing, and his family will remember him for his many escapades and adventures. Born Feb. 11, 1939, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of the late Naomi “Sis” (Roux) and Hugh Jackson “Jack” Todd.

He is survived by a daughter: Tammy (Todd) Weir of Riverview, Fla.; three sons: Danny (Bernie) Todd of Olathe, Kan., Ryan (Jacquie) Todd of Chesterfield and Travis (Abigail) Todd of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers: Jerry R. (Ruth) Todd of Imperial and Richard (Betsy) Todd of Lake Sherwood; five grandchildren: Elissa Wallis, Ashley Todd, Lauren (Mark) Ash, Kyle Todd and Maggie Todd; and a great-granddaughter: Zella Wallis.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
