James, Imogene

Imogene L. “Jean” (Gillman) James, 83, of House Springs died Oct. 7, 2020, in De Soto. Mrs. James was a member of Jefferson Heights Baptist Church and a former member of Highland Baptist Church. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the rodeo. Born Aug. 19, 1937, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Richard C. and Lucille A. (Huskey) Gillman.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Charles J. James of House Springs; two daughters: Chyren L. (Darren) Fee of High Ridge and Barb J. James of De Soto; a son: Michael C. (Becky) James of Cedar Hill; six grandchildren: Amie, Amber (Lucas), Ronnie, Breanna, Gus and Reese; three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Billie and William; a brother: Beril (Linda) Gillman of Ramsey, Ill.; three sisters: Glenda (Ron) Christakos of Pevely, Joyce Anderson of Michigan and Sandra Dorner of Lemay; and a brother-in-law: Harold Kellerman of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by a son: Steven C. James; three brothers: Wayne, Rich and Terry Gillman; and two sisters: Brenda Phillips and Gail Kellerman.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home, followed by burial in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
