Frederick C. Bopp Jr., 75, of Festus died Dec. 23, 2017, in Festus. Mr. Bopp was retired from Ironworkers Local 396. He was a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 547, a member of the Plattin-Rock Boat Club and a longtime member of Elks Lodge 1721 in Crystal City. Born Nov. 11, 1942, in St. Louis, he was the son of Lorraine Isabele (Bolm) Bopp and the late Carl Bopp Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Dixie Smith; five stepchildren: Josh (Michele) Hogan of Hillsboro, Darcy Koch of California, Greer (Patrick) Bellomy of California, Tana (Doug) White of Hillsboro and Wade Smith of Festus; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Macey, Madison and Melaney White, Garrett, Bailea and Ian Hogan, Jocelyn Smith, Bentley White and Camila Voyles; several cousins and many friends.
Private family services were held. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 870, House Springs 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
