Frederick Baumhoegger, 96, High Ridge
Fred Baumhoegger, 96, of High Ridge died Nov. 14, 2021, in High Ridge. Mr. Baumhoegger was an American Legion member for more than 60 years. He also was a member of the VFW in High Ridge and took part in several Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a Boy Scout Leader and was a Sea Scout when he was a boy. He was passionate about photography, and he painted amazing landscapes and other nature images. He will be remembered for his strong will, smile and laughter. Born Feb. 28, 1925, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Ella (Satzfader) and Frederick Baumhoegger Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy (DeBacco) Baumhoegger, three children: Rebecca Baumhoegger, Robert (Linda) Baumhoegger and Frederick (Jo) Baumhoegger III; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Harry and Russell Baumhoegger.
Funeral services were held Nov. 24 at Hope Lutheran Church in High Ridge, followed by burial in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorial may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
