A memorial Mass has been set for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, for Rachelle Antoinette “Shelley” Ahner, a Fox School District teacher who died Tuesday (Sept. 17) at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
Ms. Ahner, 45, of Barnhart was a sixth-grade teacher at Guffey Elementary School.
Previously, she was a teacher at Meramec Heights Elementary School.
Both are schools in the Fox district
Ms. Ahner is survived by her parents, Ralph and Carol (Frillman) Russell of Festus; two daughters: Reagan and Lexi Ahner, both of Barnhart; a brother, Randy (Heather) Russell of Festus; a nephew, Sam Russell of Festus; two nieces: Taylor and Elle Russell, both of Festus; and a special friend, Jeff Ford of Barnhart.
Her memorial mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Wormek. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City.
