Edith Whitehead Birmingham, 91, of De Soto died Aug. 14, 2022, in De Soto. Ms. Birmingham was retired from White-Rodgers, where she had worked as a brazier. Born Sept. 11, 1930, in Ishmael, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Bertha (Johnson) Beers.
She is survived by a daughter: Kathleen (Dennis) Weinrich of De Soto; two grandchildren: Michael (Beckie) Weinrich of Moline, Ill., and Rebecca (Ben) Montgomery of Nixa; four great-grandchildren: Claire Weinrich, Emma Weinrich, Drake Montgomery and Justin Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings: Mildred Wilker, Arthur Beers, Albert Beers, Don Beers, Elmer Beers, Everett Beers, Nellie McClain, Effie Hutching, Pearl Coplin and Lottie Logsdon.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Phil Wallace. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
