Donald Joseph Fraser Sr., 82, of Farmington, formerly of Fredericktown, died June 17, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Fraser was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus and a former member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Fredericktown. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and spending time in front of a campfire or working on his farm. Born Aug. 16, 1935, in Farmington, he was the son of the late Lola (Harrington) and Guy Wilson Fraser. He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth (Kay) Fraser.
He is survived by a son: Donald (Kim) Fraser of De Soto; three grandchildren: Ashley Fraser, Morgan Fraser and Melissa “Missy” Hampton; several great-grandchildren; a brother: George (Betty) Fraser of Farmington; a stepbrother: Bill Day of Ohio; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Steve Fraser; a grandson: Cody Fraser; and seven siblings: Peggy Baumgartner, Alma Dawson, Freda Sirclum, Martha Williams, Guy Wilson Fraser Jr., Cecil Fraser and Orville Fraser.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Faith Baptist Church, 11835 County Road CC, in Festus. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, June 23, at Cozean Memorial Chapel, 217 W. Columbia St., in Farmington. Burial is in the Calvary Temple Church Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
