Diedra “Sue” Brown, 73, of Festus died Sept. 22, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Brown attended the Wellston School District. She enjoyed boating, camping, music and spending time with family. Born Oct. 12, 1947, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Martha Alice (Adams) Queen and Leroy Valentine Jones.
She is survived by a daughter: Debbie S. (Shawn Rush) Hurley of Pevely; a son: David W. (the late Kim) Brown of Festus; two sisters: Brenda (Jim) Kraft of Overland Park, Kan., and Diane (Bryan Flowers) Light of Arizona; a brother: Kent Jones of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandchildren: Gary A. Hayes III, Kristine M. (Charles) Street, Katie M. (Keith Grant) Brown and Zachary S. Brown; and six great-grandchildren: Olivia Hamilton, Darius Henderson, Landon Henderson, Kameron Grant, Skyler Grant and Summer Grant.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Richard Grayson, pastor of Morse Mill Baptist Church. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation for Life, 1950 Craig Road # 200, St. Louis, 63146. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
