Delores Anne “Sue” Jennewein, 82, of Festus died Jan. 1, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Jennewein was a devoted homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, where she was active with various church ministries and held several clerical positions. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and games, especially with her family. Born Oct. 20, 1936, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Clara (Tauschel) and John Doskocil.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Cletus G. Jennewein Sr.; three sons: Steve (Terri) Jennewein of Affton, Cletus Jennewein Jr. of Bonne Terre and Christopher Jennewein of Festus; three daughters: Susan (Mike Spresterbach) Zinn of Festus, Cheri Hall of Festus and Christina (John) Hall of Houston, Texas; a brother: John (Edyie) Doskocil of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law: Mary (Don) Hacker of Affton and Shirley Horstman of St. Louis; a brother-in-law: Anthony “Tony” (Laurie) Jennewein of Highlandville; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Jennewein chose to donate her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Clark Maes. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Pro-Life program or in the form of Masses in Mrs. Jennewein’s honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
