Delmar Eugene “Del” Weber, 79, of Festus died May 8, 2016, at his home. Mr. Weber was a manager with Boeing Aircraft. He was a member, former head elder and congregation president of Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro and a member of the Gideon Bible Society. Born May 9, 1936, in Bonne Terre, he was the son of the late Nellie (Richardson) and Roy Weber.
He is survived by his wife: Deanna “Sam” (Akins) Weber; five sons: Gregory (Bobbie) Weber of St. Louis, Kenneth Weber of Waterloo, Ill., Kevin (Elena) LaPlante of Festus, Jason (Dayna) LaPlante of Pevely and Andy (Emily) Weber of St. Louis; a daughter: Sherry Gosnell of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren: JR Gosnell, Gracie (Samuel) Jackson, Jason (Dawn) Gilbertson, Carrie (Ryan) Gilbertson-Claunch, Daniel (Alexis) Weber, Kimberly Weber, Zane Weber, Zachary Weber, Brittnee Lowe, Alex LaPlante, Maya LaPlante, Jackson LaPlante and Paxton LaPlante; and three great-grandchildren: Tanner Gilbertson, Brielle Gilbertson and Skylar Gilbertson-Claunch, with another on the way.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. Visitation is at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, 9700 Zion Lutheran Church Road, in Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Matthew Schultz. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or to Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
