Crystal Faye Freeman, 70, of Hillsboro died Oct. 2, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Freeman had worked in the deli at Queen’s Market in Hillsboro and was a volunteer at the De Soto Elks Lodge. She was born Oct. 18, 1949, in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Lester Ray and Ida Murilla Jean (Drennen) Huskey.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years: Michael James “Jim” Freeman, whom she married on Nov. 14, 1970; two children: Clint (Cathy) Freeman of Barnhart and Lee (Rene) Freeman of Festus; three grandchildren: Clayton, Cailey and Zach; and a sister: Sally (Bob) Riggs of Hillsboro.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home, officiated by Jimmie Turner. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1001 Craig Road, #480, St. Louis, 63146. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
