Collette Marie Fenwick, 94, of Festus died Aug. 2, 2022, at Stonebridge Nursing Home in De Soto. Mrs. Fenwick enjoyed traveling with her husband across the U.S., Canada, and Hawaii. She loved reading and passed that passion on to her children and grandchildren. She was skilled at making conversation and friends. Born Oct. 26, 1927, in Ste. Genevieve, she was the daughter of the late Martha (Baumann) and Anthony Baechle.
She was preceded in death by her husband: George Wendell Fenwick.
She is survived by three children: Diann (Karl) Blaha of Festus, Denise Fenwick of Courtenay of British Columbia, Canada, and Marilyn (Sam) Fenwick-Osowski of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren: Nicole (Adam) Guerrero, Suzanne (Mike) Davis, Melissa (Philip) Butler, Stefanie Vermett, Alisha Motley, Megan Fenwick and Brooke Fenwick; and three great-grandchildren: Hayley Fenwick, Maya Davis and Isabella Butler.
She was preceded in death by a son: Steven C. (Mickey of Arnold) Fenwick; and three brothers: James (Carolyn of Farmington) Baechle, Oliver (Doris of St. Louis) Baechle and Alois (the late Mary Jane) Baechle.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Mathew Cheruparambil. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Festus Public Library. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
