Dyle, Charles

Charles M. “Pete” Dyle, 79, of De Soto died Dec. 20, 2015, at Festus Manor Nursing Home in Festus. Mr. Dyle was the owner/operator of an over-the-road truck. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Born Nov. 8, 1936, in Festus, he was the son of the late John Henry Dyle and Irene (Enlow) Dyle and the stepson of the late Violet Dyle.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet Marie (Hawkins) Dyle, whom he married Aug. 3, 1974, at the First United Methodist Church in Festus; three children: Robert Higgins, Jamie Higgins and David Higgins; two sisters: Loretta Hart and Ruby McCain; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a cousin and dear friend, James (Betty) Dyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chuck” Dyle; a sister, Alberta Burgan; and two brothers: Carl Dyle and Norman Dyle.

Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Jason Ahrens. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
