Carol Sue Gearhart, 66, of Hillsboro died Nov. 19, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Gearhart was a member of De Soto Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, camping, visiting the beach and doing puzzles. She was born Jan. 18, 1954, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Helen (Babcock) and Herman Wood.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Bob Gearhart Sr. of Hillsboro; three sons: Bob (Jenny) Gearhart of Dittmer, Matt (Shelley) Gearhart of Verona and Mike "Mo" (Kristi) Gearhart of French Village; three siblings: Barney (Donna) Wood, John (Judy) Wood and Judy (Gary) Reinwald; and six grandchildren: Madison, Megan, Molly, Nathan, Emily and Waylon.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Marie “Tootsie” Wood, Mary Franger, Pearl Hoyt, Grace Rowley, Ruth Evans, Billy Wood and Buddy Wood.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Jadwin Cemetery in Salem.
