Beverly Jane Davenport, 80, of Festus died Sunday, May 22, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Davenport was a retired teacher from Festus Elementary School and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Festus. She enjoyed crafting, painting and gardening and watching Cardinals baseball games and her grandchildren’s sports. Born May 31, 1941, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Violet (Ziervogel) and Walter Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Bonnie Carroll Davenport.
She is survived by a daughter: Jennifer (Jason) Gillam of Festus; a brother: Charles (Carolyn) Snyder of Conway, Ark.; a son-in-law: Charles Martin of Festus; four grandchildren: Trey Martin, Heather K. Martin, Luke Gillam and Olivia Gillam; and a great-grandson: Chase Martin.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Christine Kay Martin.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Visitation will resume Wednesday, May 25, at 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Kayla Roe. Burial will be in Gamel Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Bonnie Davenport Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
