Betty Jean Herschel, 72, of Hillsboro died Aug. 20, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Herschel was a registered nurse. Born Jan. 15, 1944, in Morganfield, Ky., she was the daughter of Elmer Klingemann of St. Louis and the late Mildred Klingemann.
She is survived by her husband: Claude Herschel; two sons: Chris (Christy) Herschel of Pacific and Gregory Herschel of Union; a daughter: Deborah (Ronnie) Pickles of House Springs; and three grandchildren: Jason and Danielle Pickles, both of House Springs, and Kelsey Herschel of Pacific.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Aug. 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Homes.
