Labbee, Betty

Betty Jane Labbee, 78, of Sullivan, formerly of De Soto, died July 14, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Labbee was a retired lab assistant. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and of the Ladies Auxiliary groups at both the De Soto Amvets and  De Soto VFW posts. She was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late William and Sara (Derring) Yates.

She is survived by three sons: Micheal (Edna) Labbee of Utica, Mich., Richard (Trina) Labbee of Festus and Robert Labbee of St. Louis; three daughters: Donna (Rodney) McGuuffey of Blackwell, Judy (Ron) Dehn of Sullivan and Cynthia (Rick) Masterman of Springbrook, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Chester, Charles, Gerald, Lawrence and Thurlo Yates; and two sisters: Anna Bell Coleman and Norma Micke.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Adopt an Angel, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, 523 S. Fourth St., De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
