Anthony “Tony” Garris, 49, of East St. Louis, formerly of De Soto and Crystal City, died Dec. 19, 2021, at his home. Mr. Garris was born Jan. 3, 1972, in Alton, Ill., the son of Dave (Jennifer) Garris of Cottage Hills and Carol (Buckshot) McClain of Alton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children: Kacee Coleman of Alton, Ill., and Devin Garris of Fenton; five siblings: Angela Garris, Dave Garris, Bob Conner of Wood River, Ill., Babette “Bet” Conner of Godfrey, Ill., and Carrie “Meadows” Forbes; two grandchildren: Ryan Ewing and Jada Martin; a stepbrother: Danny (Lonnie) McClain Jr., formerly of De Soto; a stepsister: Pamela Collision of S. Roxana; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Jacob Cunningham; a stepbrother: Eric M. McClain; a cousin: Jimmy Short; relatives Tom Conner and Cecil Meadows Jr.; his grandparents; and many other relatives and friends.
