Ann Marie Held, 70, of Festus died May 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in CrystalCity. Mrs. Held was a registered nurse at the hospital for 40 years. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1230 Ladies Auxiliary and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved her grandchildren and was a world-wide traveler. Born July 1, 1941, in Centralia, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Agnes (Windisch) and Andrew Virobik.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Alan Henry Held.
She is survived by a son: Andrew (Jennifer) Held of Festus; two daughters: Margaret (Timothy) Pigg of Festus and Mary (Robert) Proffer of Festus; a brother: Paul (Bea) Virobik of Torrance, Calif.; a sister: Theresa Williams of Centralia, Ill.; and six grandchildren: Jesse Pigg, Kellie Pigg, Madison Proffer, Sydney Proffer, Drew Held and Keaton Held.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 Saint Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffrey Maassen. Burial is in the SacredHeartCatholicCemetery in CrystalCity. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
