Miller, Angus

Angus E. Miller Jr., 93, of Hillsboro died Aug. 28, 2021, at Friendship Village in Sunset Hills. Mr. Miller was retired from Phillips Petroleum after working there 35 years, and then he enjoyed 35 years of retirement. He was a 41-year member of De Soto Church of Christ, where he was a deacon. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1949 and was stationed in Okinawa and Japan. Born Sept. 19, 1927, in East St. Louis, he was the son of the late Marguerite (Jackson) and Angus E. Miller Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Geraldine Mae Miller.

He is survived by two children: Tom (Brenda) Miller of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Judy Miller of Arnold; three grandchildren: Rebecca (Dustin) Welch of Manchester, Tenn., Mary Beth (Jeff) Wilson of Nashville, Tenn., and David (Harmony) Miller of Spring Hill, Tenn.; two sisters: Jackie Stephenson of St. Louis and Carolyn Fields of Cole Camp; and nine great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Smith.

A funeral service was held Sept. 1 at Kutis South County Chapel in St. Louis County. Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
