HUNTSVILLE — A Randolph County judge denied a bond change for one of the suspects in the death of a Moberly teen.

Alyana Mason, 20, is being held without bond for the murder and kidnapping charges against her in connection to the death of 16-year-old Kayla Huff.

Three other defendants in the case— Christopher Hull, Hunter Ames and Julian Mason— were also scheduled for bond hearings on Monday, but those were postponed to June 1 since they did not have an attorney.

Last week, Alyana Mason and Ames' charges were amended to include first-degree murder. Ames, 19, also faces a tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution charge.

Both Julian Mason, 26, and Hull, 23, face charges of first-degree kidnapping and tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution.

KOMU 8 News asked Randolph County's Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford about adding more charges as the investigation continues.

"Currently where the charges sit is supported by the evidence that we have thus far," Luntsford said. "The investigation is not complete, so if that investigation should yield anything additional that would be appropriate, then we would consider adding it at that time."

A new defendant in the case also appeared in court for his arraignment on Monday. Skyler Powell, 24, was charged over the weekend with hindering the prosecution of a felony, according to court records.

The 17-year-old juvenile arrested in connection to the kidnapping was not in court, and it has not been confirmed if they are still in custody. Luntsford said the prosecutor's office is not in charge of the case, so she has no updates.

Huff went missing from Moberly on May 6 and was found dead in Rudolf Bennitt Conservation Area on May 13, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

A celebration of life for Kayla Huff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday along with a visitation from noon to 3 p.m. at the MACC Activity Center in Moberly.
