A jury trial has been set for a Columbia man linked to two gun incidents earlier this year.
Joshua Abrams, 23, is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon in connection to an April 13 shooting on East Broadway. In the same case, he is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and DWI in connection to a separate shots fired incident that occurred May 1.
The jury trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on April 7, 2026. Parties anticipate a three-day trial, according to court records.
Currently, Abrams is confined in the Boone County Jail with no bond.
Abrams appeared in a hearing Monday, where he requested a bond reduction. The court denied the request.
A bond change was previously requested in May but was denied, according to court records.
