Amanda L. Moore, 42, of High Ridge has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and six months in jail after pleading guilty to charges of drug trafficking and driving while intoxicated. She was arrested after being found slumped in the driver’s seat in a car outside of the Steak ’n Shake restaurant, 1185 Gravois Road, in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, according to court documents.
On Oct. 25, Moore pleaded guilty to second-degree drug trafficking, a class C felony, and DWI, a class B misdemeanor. Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Brenda Stacey sentenced Moore to prison for the felony and jail for the misdemeanor, court records show.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Lindsay Whalen prosecuted the case.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy on July 28, 2023, arrived at the fast-food restaurant after a paramedic was already treating Moore. The paramedic told the deputy there were two bags containing crystal-like substances in the car.
The deputy also found a pipe with residue. The Missouri State Highway Patrol tested the substances and residue, confirming they were methamphetamine, the report said.
A second deputy was called to the restaurant due to Moore showing signs of impairment. She allegedly told that deputy that she had taken methadone, smoked marijuana and snorted fentanyl that day, according to the report.
Moore also had a reddened nostril and a white powder residue inside the nostril, the report said.
According to court documents, this is at least the fourth conviction of a drug-related charge. She was found guilty of two counts of possession of a controlled substance in November 2015 and one count of possession of a controlled substance in November 2022.
Moore currently is in the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia.
