The Boone County prosecuting attorney filed charges Thursday against a Columbia teenager in connection to a fatal shooting in May.

Anthony K. Marine faces charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

Marine was 16 at the time of the shooting, while the victim was 18, according to previous KOMU 8 reporting.

A probable cause statement alleges that Marine shot and killed a man in the 1300 block of North Frideriki Drive after a fight in the area. Marine allegedly admitted to firing the shot. He told deputies he ran away and hid the gun, according to the same statement.

Boone County deputies found video footage from the area that showed Marine firing a shot at the victim, according to the probable cause statement.

The Boone County prosecuting attorney requested that Marine be held without bond, according to court documents.
