The Jefferson County Health Department will reopen its Arnold office, 1818 Lonedell Road, at 8 a.m. Monday, June 7.
The Health Department’s High Ridge office, 5684 State Road PP, is scheduled to reopen in a few weeks, according to a press release.
The Health Department has offices in Hillsboro, Arnold and High Ridge. During the pandemic, the Hillsboro office, 405 Main St., remained open for vital records and other services. The other two offices closed in March 2020 in response to the outbreak.
“Though we are still in COVID response, we are eager to open our doors to the community again for full services at all our locations,” Health Department director Kelley Vollmar said. “We are methodically opening and staffing our offices in order to accommodate active COVID response and bring all our programs back to full capacity.”
The Arnold and Hillsboro offices will be open 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
According to a press release, the Arnold office will start providing family planning and vital records service Monday, June 7, and other programs will return in the following weeks.
The High Ridge office must be restocked and recertified by the state before it can reopen, the press release said.
“The last 15 months of COVID response have been challenging, but our staff have been flexible, and the community has been supportive of adaptations that were made,” Vollmar said.
Health Department public information officer Brianne Zwiener said visitors must wear masks into Health Department offices. If they show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, visitors may remove their masks.
The Health Department Board of Trustees unanimously voted May 28 to change the mask policy. Board chairperson Dennis Diehl, board members Tim Pigg and James Prater voted yes. Board members Suzy Davis and Amber Henry were not at the meeting, which was held virtually.
Previously, masks were required by everyone inside any Health Department office.
