Eureka Police are searching for a red Kia Sedona after a man was seen driving away in the van after allegedly stealing three Yeti coolers from the Cotton’s Ace Hardware store, 111 Hilltop Village Center Drive. The coolers have a combined value of $975, police reported.
Officers were called at about 7:15 p.m. July 25 after the man allegedly stole the Yeti Hopper M20 Backpack Coolers, which were black and blue. The man left the store without paying for the coolers and got into the van, which drove west on Fifth Street, the report said.
Investigators located the van using Flock license-plate reading cameras in the city before the alleged theft. When the checked the van’s license plate, they discovered the plate had been reported stolen in St. Louis County, according to the report.
As of Aug. 12, the coolers had not been recovered, and the suspect had not been identified, Capt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
