Authorities have identified the woman who died March 6 following a fire at her High Ridge apartment.
She was Janet P. Hasty, 70, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
As of today (March 12), the cause of her death had not been determined because a Medical Examiner’s report is not complete, he said.
Hasty was pronounced dead by paramedics after High Ridge Fire Protection District firefighters got her out of the apartment in the 1800 block of Gravois Road.
Investigators said the cause of the fire has been ruled undetermined, Bissell said.
High Ridge Fire Capt. John Barton said firefighters were dispatched at 4:50 p.m. to the apartment and arrived on the scene at 4:53 p.m. Shortly after they arrived, a neighbor told firefighters a woman was still inside.
Barton said firefighters got the woman out of a front room in the apartment at 5:01 p.m., but paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene a short time later, High Ridge Fire reported in a written statement.
The Saline Valley, Eureka, Fenton, Mehlville and Valley Park fire protection districts helped with the call. The North Jefferson County Ambulance District responded to the scene, too.
