Arnold Police are seeking a woman who reportedly used three counterfeit $100 bills at a Dollar General store in Arnold. That was about a half hour after employees at Hobby Lobby in Arnold refused to accept a $100 bill from the woman, Arnold Police reported.
The woman appeared to be between 28 and 32 years old, the report said.
The store manager at Dollar General, 505 Jeffco Blvd., contacted Arnold Police on March 23 after the store was alerted by US Bank that one of the store’s deposits included three counterfeit bills. Surveillance video allegedly showed the woman use the counterfeit bills when she put $300 onto a cash card at the store at about 8 p.m. March 22, the report said.
The woman in the surveillance video appeared to be the same customer who attempted to use a fake $100 bill at about 7:30 p.m. March 22 at the Hobby Lobby, 30 Arnold Park Mall. The Hobby Lobby employees did not accept the bill, telling the woman they believed it was counterfeit and that the police were being called. The woman left the bill on a counter and left the store, according to the report.
As of April 1, the woman had not been identified, and Arnold Police reported the incidents to the Secret Service, Lt. Jason Valentine said.
