Two 18-year-old men, one from High Ridge and the other Byrnes Mill, recently were arrested for allegedly stealing electronics and other items from vehicles parked along Medford and Wellesley drives in High Ridge, says Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

The thefts occurred late June 16 and early June 17, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The Sheriff’s Office got a call at about 12:40 a.m. June 17 that two men were getting into unlocked vehicles on Medford, and when deputies arrived, they found a suspicious, unoccupied vehicle parked in the area, the report said.

Then, deputies found two suspects allegedly stealing items from inside another vehicle parked on Medford, and they were found with items stolen from other vehicles parked in the area, according to the report.

Deputies also found three other suspects in a yard on Wellesley, and they also allegedly were found with items taken from vehicles in the area, the report said.

As of June 21, though, only two had been arrested, and stealing charges will be sought against them through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Arnhart said.

Some of the items deputies recovered included various electronics, car radio faceplates, an MP3 player, sunglasses, watches, flashlights and change, according to the report.

Arnhart said the Sheriff’s Office is looking for other possible victims and is asking anyone who lives in the area and had items go missing June 16-17 to call the Sheriff’s Office North Zone Office at 636-797-6216.
