A 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both of Fenton, were arrested after they allegedly were found with drugs in a car parked outside of an Arnold gas station. The incident happened at 1:18 p.m. June 7 at the Gulf gas station, 501 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold Police reported.
A police officer allegedly spotted the 24-year-old man sitting in the passenger seat breathing into an ignition interlock device attached to the car. The man allegedly told the officer he was there to keep the car going while his friend was inside the gas station’s convenience store, the report said.
The 24-year-old was wanted on warrants from the Town and Country Police, as well as from the Cole County Sheriff’s Office, where he was wanted for auto theft, according to the report.
After the driver exited the convenience store, the officer allegedly found what appeared to be methamphetamine and heroin between the driver-side seat and center console. The two men were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where the 25-year-old was booked and later released and the 24-year-old was booked and held for one of the other law enforcement agencies that wanted him, according to the report.
Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the two men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of meth and heroin, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
