The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary at a home in the 10000 block of Morse Mill Road in Dittmer. Items worth about $2,940 were stolen during the burglary, which was reported Sept. 23, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The suspects allegedly entered the home through the front door, which was not forced open, and stole an Xbox game system, an external hard drive, a 46-inch TV, a laptop computer and a shotgun. The victim identified one the suspects after reviewing surveillance footage, and both suspects, a 34-year-old Dittmer woman and a 35-year-old High Ridge man, were arrested Sept. 24 in the 7000 block of Cedar Grove in Dittmer, the report said.
The suspects allegedly admitted to burglarizing the home, and all the stolen items except the hard drive were recovered the same day at a Fenton pawn shop. The items were returned to the victim, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The suspects were booked and released pending application for warrants, Cpl. Matthew Moore said Oct. 10. The Sheriff’s Office will seek first-degree burglary charges against the two suspects.
