A home in the 3400 block of Flucom Road in the De Soto area that’s being rehabbed recently was burglarized. Between 4 p.m. June 2 and 8:30 a.m. June 3, someone forced open the entry door to the home, causing about $150 in damage to the steel door, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

In addition, the culprit stole a home-made utility trailer valued at about $900. The trailer was loaded with debris and had been parked in front of the home when it was stolen, the report said.

The person the homeowner’s had doing the rehab work discovered the burglary and contacted the victims. The victims said they didn’t notice anything unusual during the time the burglary occurred, according to the report.

A glove was found in the driveway that did not belong to the victim or the man rehabbing the home. It was taken as evidence and will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab for DNA testing, the report said.

As of Monday (June 13), the stolen trailer had not been recovered. There were no suspects or arrests either, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
