The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of tools from a home restoration company’s truck and bins that were on a fenced-in parking lot at an apartment complex in Imperial, authorities reported.
At about 7:30 a.m. June 12, a Five Star Exteriors employee saw a parking lot fence had been cut, and a Mendez Restoration truck was broken into. Tools were stolen from the locked truck and bins that had been left outside the truck, the report said.
Two foot brakes were stolen from the truck but those were recovered in a wooded area behind the apartment complex, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide an estimated value for the tools stolen from Mendez Restoration, and it did not provide an estimated cost to repair Five Star Exteriors’ cut fence.
As of June 13, the tools had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
